The AUBO I16H shipbuilding I-beam welding robot is a six axis collaborative welding cobot developed for demanding shipbuilding and heavy steel fabrication. With a 16 kg payload, a 967.5 mm reach and an integrated welding torch package, it reaches deep into I-beam webs and stiffener intersections where access is tight and weld quality is critical. The cobot format lets shipyards automate repetitive I-beam welding while keeping the flexibility to reprogram for new block designs.
In shipbuilding production, the value of this welding cobot is measured in consistency. The six axis arm follows complex joint paths, maintains torch angle through the whole pass and holds 380 V welding parameters stable, which reduces rework on structural welds. Because it is collaborative, it can share space with fitters and inspectors, and it can be re-tasked quickly between I-beam assemblies without heavy fixturing. The integrated torch keeps cable management clean and protects the weld package in a busy yard environment.

This I-beam welding robot is aimed at shipbuilding yards, offshore structure builders and heavy steel fabricators. It is equally effective on I-beam assembly, stiffener welding, hull block fabrication and other structural welding tasks where a stable, repeatable torch path matters more than raw speed.
Beyond shipyards, this six axis welding cobot also fits prefabrication halls and steel service centers that build large welded frames. Its collaborative nature means a single operator can supervise several tasks around the cell, and because the torch package and welding program are stored digitally, switching from one I-beam family to another is fast and repeatable. That combination of reach, payload and flexibility is what makes the AUBO I16H a practical choice for yards moving from manual welding toward semi automated structural fabrication, without the cost and rigidity of a full gantry line.
Q: Can this cobot handle heavy welding torches?
A: Yes. The 16 kg payload is sized for heavy torch and wire feed packages used in shipbuilding welding.
Q: Does the 967.5 mm reach suit deep I-beam joints?
A: The reach is chosen to access deep webs and stiffener intersections that are difficult for larger robots to enter.
Q: Is the welding torch integrated or separate?
A: This model ships with an integrated welding torch package for cleaner cable routing and quicker setup.
Q: How quickly can it be reprogrammed for a new block?
A: Because it is a collaborative cobot, new I-beam paths can be reprogrammed quickly without heavy re-fixturing.
Each unit is delivered with a video outgoing inspection, a servo-electric drive and IP54 protection for the shipyard environment. A one year warranty covers the core assembly. For shipyards that need repeatable, flexible I-beam welding, this six axis welding cobot delivers structural weld consistency without complex automation overhead.
